Setup Settings

The SEIKOSHA FB-375 printer does not have any Dip Switches. You can verify or change various printer settings by using the switches and LCD display on the control panel. Please refer to the printer manual for details of how to set these printers up.

To use the Setup mode press and hold the ONLINE switch while turning the power on.

Press the Up switch to select the next menu or the down switch to choose the previous menu

Press the Right switch to enter the Function select mode. The LCD flashes the Function name

Press the Up switch to select the next function or the down switch for the previous function.

When you have finished your changes, press the EXIT switch to store the settings and exit Setup mode.

The Printer can store four different sets of function settings under USER1 ~ USER4

Main Menu=User

Selects the user number to reset its function and menu settings to the factory default settings. Selecting "ALL" resets the function and menu settings of all four user numbers to the factory default settings.

Select the menu you desire. The settings are reset to their factory default when you return to the FUNCTION select mode or exit the setup mode.

"DF.SET; OFF" is displayed on the LCD except when you are setting the menu of this fuction.

1 Select User No. Selects the user number to be valid when the printer power is turned on.
2 Change User No.

 

Selects the user number to be changed. The menu of this function is normally set to the same number as the one selected in Function No. 01 to avoid possible confusion. Selecting "ALL" changes the function and menu settings for all four user numbers.
3 Language

 

Selects the language of the messages displayed on the LCD, English, German. French or Spanish.

*indicates the factory default setting.

Main Menu=Emulation

10 Emulation Selects the emulation, IBM or EPSON. The factory defalut for the user numbers 1 and 2 is "EPSON" and for the user numbers 3 and 4 is "IBM"
11 IBM AGM Sets the IBM Alternate Graphics Mode to on or off.

Main Menu=Character

20 Pitch Selects the default character pitch.
21 Font Selects the default font style.
22 Character Set (IBM) Selects the special foreign character set in the IBM emulation.
23 Code Page Selects the code page.
24 Character Set (EPSON) Selects the international character set in the Epson emulation
25 Character Table (EPSON) Specifies the 80h-FFh character table used in the EPSON emulation.
26 Character Mode

 

Selects the default character style. Normal, Emphasized, Double Strike, Emphasized and Double Strike combined
27 15 CPI

 

Selects the height of 15 CPI characters in the EPSON emulation.

HALF= Half of Normal Height, FULL= Normal Height

30 Page Length

 

Sets the default page length in lines (number of lines at 1/6 inch line spacing). Multiply the length in inches you desire by 6 to find the number of lines to be set. For example, to set the page length to 11 inches, select 66 lines (11x6=66)
31 LPI (Line per Inch) Select the defalut line spacing (line per inch)
32 Line Length Selects the default line length in number of characters.
33 Skip Over Perforation Selects the skip over perforation feature for continuous forms.
34 Paper Load

 

Sets top margin value (0/60-inch to 120/60 inch) when using the auto-loading function.
35 Bottom Margin Sets bottom margin value (1/60-inch to 120/60 inch) for cut forms.
36 Left Margin 1 Sets the default margin (1-78 characters at 10 CPI).
37 Left Margin 2

 

Sets the default left margin (1-78 characters at 10 CPI) for the loading position 2.

* Function 37 is displayed and selectable only when the Printer has the passbook option (factory option) installed.

Main Menu=Paper Handling

No. Function & Menu Description
40 Paper Intial Selects the continuous form initialization. When this function is set to "ON" and the paper is in printing position (under the print head), the printer feeds the paper back to the tractor position and then advances to the print start position when the power switch is turned on. When this function is set to "OFF", the printer does not move the paper when the power switch is turned on.
41 Paper Advance

 

Selects how far the paper moves by the tear off operation.

TER= The perforation is fed to the tear off position selected by Function No.43, Advance Position.

VIE= The last printed line is fed to the tear off position selected by Function NO.43 Advance Position.

42 Advance Control Selects the timing for Function No.41, Paper Advance. OFF= Disables the tear off function, 03S=0.3 second, 05s=0.5 second, 1S=1 second
43 Advance Position Selects the position where the paper is fed to by the tear off operation.

1 = Paper (the perforation or last printed line selected by Function No. 41, Paper Advance is fed to the print cover edge

2= Paper (the perforation or last printed line selected by Function No. 41, Paper Advance) is fed to the front table edge.

44 Advance Condition Selects the condition which tear off function activates.

1= The tear off works only when the paper is at the top of form.

2= The tear off works regardless of the paper position.

45 Tear off Adjustment Sets the micro adjustment value of the tear off position in increments of 1/60 inch. The adjustable range is from -15/60 in
