Setup Settings

BP-7800II

The SEIKOSHA BP-7800II printer does not have any Dip Switches. The Setup functions are changed using the front LCD panel. Please refer to the printer manual for details of how to set these printers up.

Note: The current Setup settings can be printed on this printer using Function 86 in the Extended set up.

To access the Basic Setup, turn the printer OFF-LINE by pressing the ONLINE button (The LCD displays "SIZE: A4 P"), now press the SETUP button (LCD displays "1.Multipart"), Use the Right Arrow button to move along the functions and when you are on the correct function press the Down Arrow button to scroll through the options. Once you have made a change press the ENTER button (LCD shows an asterisk by your choice) then press EXIT or ONLINE button to terminate the Setup options.

BASIC SETUP FUNCTIONS
Function DISPLAY Function Description
1 MULTIPART Set overprinting from 1x (Normal) to 4x (Dark3)
2 PAGE FANFOLD Set the page length. But can be changed by software see also F22
3 PAGE SINGLE Set the page length and orientation. Only valid if set to single sheet or CSF mode. Set to CODE for software setting
4 FONT SELECT Choose from the fonts displayed
5 CHAR PITCH Set a Character spacing or style. But can be changed by software
6 ZOOM IN/OUT Enlarges or Compresses the text size
7 TOF ADJUST Top of Form adjustment from 0 inch to a maxiumum of 480/60 inch
8 SELECT SETUP Choose from one of 3 saved file selections

EXTENDED SETUP FUNCTIONS

To Access the Extended Setup options press the Set UP key when the Reset Key is pressed.

17 CR SETTING Set how the printer is to react to a Carriage Return command
18 LF SETTING Set how the printer is to react to a Line Feed command
19 LF PITCH Set the number of lines per inch (lpi)
20 ZERO STYLE Set to Slashed or No-Slash
21 TABULATION Set default tab stops
22 PAGE LOCK Lock in page length
23 QUALITY Set Print Quality
24 FONT LOCK Lock in Font
25 PITCH LOCK Lock in Character Spacing
26 QLTY LOCK Lock in print quality
27 BARCODE Should the printer accept the Car Code command
28 BC TYPE Choose from 13 Bar Code types + Element
29 NB WIDTH Set default Narrow Bar width (not Postnet)
30 WB WIDTH Set default Wide Bar width (not Postnet)
31 NS WIDTH Set default Narrow Space width (not Postnet)
32 WS WIDTH Set default Wide Space width (not Postnet)
33 ICG WIDTH Set default Intercharacter gap width (where allowed by BC)
34 BC HEIGHT Set default Bar Code Height (not Postnet)
35 HRI PRINT Set Human Readable Interpretation options (None,Above,Below)
36 HRI FONT Set HRI font (Current, OCR-A, OCR-B)
37 CHECK DIGIT Add an automatic Check Digit (Not Codabar)
40 TOP MARGIN Set Top Margin
41 BOTTOM MARGIN Set Bottom Margin
42 LEFT M. Set Left Margin
43 RIGHT M. Set Right Margin
44 PAPER WIDTH Set Paper Width (for print head Positioning)
45 AUTO SCROLL Autoscroll advances paper to TearOff position after x secs
46 OVERRIDE BM Override default 17mm Bottom Margin
47 LABEL MODE Designed to prevent labels peeling & Causing printer jams
48 P.OUT DETECT Set paper detection ON or OFF
49 CSF OPTIONS Is the optional Cut Sheet Feeder fitted
50 PAPER FEED Selects Paper Feed Method
60 INTERFACE Set Parallel or Serial
61 SLCT IN ENBL Select In Signal (parrallel Interface)
62 PARITY BIT Set parity bit (Serial Interface only)
63 DATE LENGTH Data Length (Serial Interface)
64 STOP BIT Set Stop Bit (Serial Interface only)

67 SERIAL ERROR Set how printer reacts to a serial DT error (Serial Interface only)
68 CTS ENABLE Accepts or Ignores the Clear To Send signal from host
69 CD ENABLE Accepts or Ignores the Carrier Detect signal from host
70 DSR ENABLE Accepts or ignores Data Set Ready signal from host
71 BUFFER SIZE Set Buffer Size
72 BUSY/ACK Busy/ACK timing (parallel interface)
73 DATA LATCH Data Latch Timing (parallel interface)
80 PRINT DIR Set BI, UNI or PRE directional printing
81 DISPLAY LONG LCD display Language
82 INVERT DISP Invert LCD Display
83 SOFTWARE SET Enables or disables alteration of setup by specia; software commands
84 RESET LOCK Lock the reset key
85 SAVE SETUP Saves current settings into one of three memory areas

The following Test Prints are available on this printer. Turn Power on or press the RESET switch whilst holding down the following switch(es). Hold Switches until printing starts
